| What is Myofascial Release? |
|
Myofascial release can improve posture, release muscle tension and pain and increase range of motion. Fascia is a continuous web of connective tissue that lies between the skin and the underlying structure of muscle and bone. From head to foot, its presence is uninterrupted throughout your body. Fascia can be restricted due to injuries, stress, trauma and poor posture, and since the fascial system is interconnected, an imbalance in one part of the system will affect other parts of the body. Myofascial release is a therapy which incorporates stretching and massage of tissue beneath the skin, addressing imbalances by allowing the fascia to reorganize to its natural position. |
